Get Your Hair Winter Ready at Belmont Forum

As we discussed in our make-up post (find it here) Winter can cause havoc with your skin and hair. To combat these problems and have flawless tresses, read below.

1. Leave-In Treatments are your Best Friend.

Just like your skin the cold weather dries hair out, so treat yourself once a week to a leave-in treatment. Not only will it lock the hydration in but it’s a moment to feel pampered. Visit Hairhouse Warehouse to get the most suitable treatment for your hair.

2. Watch That Water.

A really hot shower in winter is extremely tempting, however the heat can dry out your hair and damage the sensitive skin on your scalp. Be on the safe side and wash your hair under warm or cool water.

3. Avoid the Awkward Static.

Running around doing errands usually calls for a coat, scarf or another garment which creates static. Use a dry-oil spray in your hair and invest in a vented brush that has a combination of plastic and boar bristles. This will help keep your hair smooth.

4. Sleep with Silk

Did you know that cotton pillowcases can soak up the moisture from your hair? Swap for a silk pillow- you’ll find less flyaways and frizz. Your hair will thank you for it.

5. Trend Alert #1! Low-Swept Pony Tail.

A simple yet chic trend. Make sure your hair is well brushed then sweep into a pony at the base of your neck. This style is perfect when your time-poor and busy.

6. Trend Alert #2! Bold Centre-Part

A strong bold centre-part and sleek straight hair is an eye-catching look. Wear this style when you want to add some oomph to your outfit. Pair it back with a stylish coat and blouse/trouser combination.

7. Trend Alert #3! The Wet-Look.

Try this trend if you’re game- it’s all about lacquered back hair tucked behind the ears. It’s meant to replicate the ‘just got out of the shower’ look but in a super chic way. This style takes skill, chat to the ladies at Hairhouse Warehouse on how you can achieve this at home.
