Review: Schnitz for the first time user

Nothing beats the mid-day blues like a delicious lunch on a Friday!

I decided to try Schnitz, who made its first Western Australian restaurant at Belmont Forum. Founded in 2007, the Schnitz philosophy is all about making the perfect Schnitzel, with each Schnitz made to order and pan-cooked to bring you the most mouth-watering Schnitz you can have!

Working in a creative field, one of the first things I notice when I visit somewhere is the exterior and interior décor. Schnitz did not disappoint, the restaurant has a rustic, homely feel with its greenery features, wooden tables and worn-brick walls. Attention to detail is high on my ‘must-have’ list, so to see each table with a small coloured basket to house cutlery and menu was a nice touch. Seating is plentiful, with intimate tables for two, booths for groups, bar options and outdoor seating. All these factors create a pleasant and comfortable dining experience.

From placing my order at the counter, to receiving my food at my table, I was greeted with a friendly smile and warm customer service. Not only did I receive this, but every customer I observed was treated the same way.

Now on to the best part- the food!
I ordered the Small Plain and Simple Roll Combo, which included chips and a drink. Unlike the name suggests, this roll was far from ‘plain’! Consisting of a perfectly crumbed schnitzel, tasty cheese, cos lettuce, tomato, Spanish onion and mayo with something a little extra in in – this roll ticked all the right boxes for me. All the ingredients were fresh and flavourful, it lived up to the Schnitz promise.

The chips were next level, I am a hot-chip fanatic and don’t take my chip quality lightly. However, these chips were the perfect degree of crunchy, with just the right amount of seasoning – it wasn’t overwhelming and was enough to keep you wanting more (and wishing I ordered a large!)

I left feeling relaxed and satisfied, my meal was delicious and kept me full all afternoon- I would definitely recommend any Schnitzel lover to come down to Belmont Forum and check out the tasty offerings available at Schnitz.
